Implicit bias can influence almost every aspect of behavior. In a school environment, this can include the writing of assessments. All faculty who write student assessments have taken part in multiple training seminars conducted by outside facilitators during the 2020-21 school year.  The focus of assessing for 股本 is to ensure that unconscious bias does not affect grading, 评论写作, or student disciplinary processes. 

We continue to focus on curriculum redesign, including changes to curriculum in American literature and U.S. 历史. 除了, we are establishing Honors course offerings in Black studies in 英语 and 人文学科 & 社会科学. We have long offered courses in religious studies that expose students to a diversity of traditions. We offer a LGBTQ+ 历史 course, now in its ninth year. We are incorporating LGBTQ+ 历史 and perspectives into the required second-year U.S. 历史 and including more LGBTQ+ writers in the 英语 program.

An honest assessment of racism and bias in the curriculum requires independent review. We are committed to engaging with outside consulting support related to matters of curriculum and pedagogy.
